Community came together to get Galbally road repaired
Promoting concerts isn't for the faint hearted and ahead of any show, there's plenty to worry about - the most pressing issue being getting enough bums on seats.
Castlelyons Community Centre secured a first class entertainer in James Kilbane and those who attended his recent gig on Friday, October 17th, were left in no doubt about his talent. This event was a fundraiser for the centre, which has served locals well for decades, but is now in need of a makeover. Unfortunately, it was left to a core group of very civic and parish minded individuals to come out and support the concert. While the crowd wasn't what it could have been, the evening was still thoroughly enjoyable.
APPRECIATIVE AUDIENCE
James is a former 'Voice of Ireland' singer, who has carved out a successful career for himself. A lot of his material is Gospel inspired with a country feel, he makes no secret of his Christianity and has an extensive 'songs of inspiration' repertoire. He throws in a lively ballad for good measure and the end result is a middle of the road appeal presented in a very professional manner.
James didn't hold back during the 2 hour concert and his sincerity shone through at all times. Speaking after the show, James described the audience as really friendly and appreciative.
"I've found people to be very friendly and I got to meet a lot of them afterwards, I hope everyone enjoyed the night, it was a pleasure to perform in Castlelyons," James said. He went on to say he was returning to this part of the world next month as he's scheduled to play a venue in Mitchelstown.
Having seen and heard James in action, one can only give this entertainer a resounding thumbs up and state that fans of country and Irish tunes with a bit of Gospel influence won't be disappointed.
