Pressure from their legions of fans persuaded the band ‘Freestyle’ to stage a comeback concert.
This concert took place in Gallahue’s Bar, Ballylanders on Saturday, November 17 of last year.
The event, which was a fundraiser for The Shine Centre For Autism, proved to be a resounding success and resulted in €6,499.90 being raised for this most deserving cause.
On Sunday night, Kieran McAuliffe from The Shine Centre For Autism, was in Gallahue’s Bar to accept the substantial cheque.
‘Phenomenal effort’
Kieran paid tribute to everyone involved in what he described as ‘a phenomenal fundraising effort’. He assured the large crowd in attendance that the money would be put to productive use.
Responding, band member Paul Frewen, said ‘Freestyle’ were delighted to be part of such a wonderful success story.
Paul was also able to report that the band are back on the road again and getting a brilliant reaction.
