Crowds are expected to flock to Kildorrery on Saturday for the Christmas Market in the Old Creamery Yard Complex on the Fermoy Road which gets under way at 2pm.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Christmas fair, the organisers have ensured that this year's event will be even bigger and better. The last 12 months have seen vast improvements to the old Creamery Yard much of which has been done on a voluntary basis and the proceeds from the market will go to further that cause.

STALLS

Saturday's Christmas fair will consist of numerous stalls of festive fare including home baking, arts and crafts, Christmas logs, holly, wreaths and arrangements, jewellery, furniture, Christmas gifts. As an added extra, this year will feature a ‘Parish Stall’ with all items kindly donated by the public.

A big attraction will be the ‘wheel of fortune’ where a wonderful selection of hams, turkeys and Christmas goodies can be won. Also available will be crepes, soup, mulled wine, tea & coffee etc.

The scene will be augmented this year by a selection of Christmas trees from the Irish Tree Centre in Kildorrery, another addition sure to create the festive spirit.

SANTA

The fun starts at 2pm, and of course no Christmas market would be complete without a visit from the man himself, Santa Claus who will arrive in style at 3pm. Rumour has it that his mode of transport had undergone a compete transformation and had been custom designed for the trip of the year.

Santa will meet and greet all the children in his newly constructed grotto, where they will be able to write and post their letter to the North Pole. Cost of Santa visit is just €6 per child with children under 2 free. This will include a photo with Santa.

So head to the famous Kildorrery town this Saturday afternoon and enjoy the Christmas Market and Santa Experience.
