Television Mobiles Ltd, based in Bartlemy, brought the majority of live coverage of the Pope’s visit to Ireland to television screens, laptops and computers across the world last weekend.

There were 120 TVM crew members involved in the Team Pope TVM and almost 60 cameras were used over the weekend to bring two days of live coverage to viewers.

Following the Pontiff’s arrival, TVM covered his Dublin city tour on Saturday afternoon as he travelled from the Pro Cathedral all the way to the Capuchin Centre in his Pope mobile.

They also brought the wonderful closing ceremonial concert of the World Meeting of Families to those at home and abroad and were on site bright and early the following morning both at Knock Airport and Knock Shrine to film his visit to the West.

The team used a specially designed tracking camera on an Isuzu DMax, which was adapted by TVM, to film the Pope’s tour through the people at Knock.

The big finale was televised live by TVM for RTE from the Phoenix Park and many viewers commented that they nearly felt they were at the event themselves, thanks to the in-depth coverage.

Members of the ‘TVM Team Pope’ also worked with Pilot Comdt Jarlath Heneghan of the Air Corps to bring live aerial pics of Dublin to the small screen for RTE.
