The owners of Vienna Woods Country House Hotel in Glanmire have announced a major €1 million investment that is now nearing completion.

The Fitzgerald family along with Michael Magner, who bought the hotel in 2006 and renamed it ‘The Vienna Woods Country House Hotel’, have lovingly and painstakingly restored much of the original protected features of the building over the years and recently the hotel had its most dramatic makeover to date.

All guest rooms and suites in the family-run 48-bedroom property are being refurbished. There is also significant investment in meeting spaces and technology to meet the hotel’s growing demand as a business destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and events.

The extensive renovations will give the property a fresh look, whilst also embracing the heritage and character of the historic 18th century house. The aim is to reposition the already thriving 4-star hotel as a deluxe country house, bringing a fresh offering to Cork’s ever-expanding needs as a travel and business destination. The country house will also appeal to those looking to be part of Ireland’s Ancient East Experience.

The transformation has been undertaken on a phased basis to minimise disruption to guests and is scheduled to conclude this month.

Michael Magner, director at Fitzgerald’s Vienna Woods Country House Hotel, said the investment is intended to position the hotel among Munster’s high-end service providers.

“This significant investment will transform our product offering, enhancing all areas of our business to deliver an entirely new experience for our guests. This hotel has been re-designed with both the local and visitor market in mind, and we aim to offer an unrivalled guest experience.”
