Mitchelstown man Anthony O’Sullivan from O’Neill Crowley Terrace in the town has, up to the time of going to press, been missing for six days after he disappeared from his hotel in Bangkok.

A past pupil of both Mitchelstown CBS and St Fanahan’s College in Mitchelstown, Mr O’Sullivan (54) is an experienced traveller and has been described as very ‘streetwise’ by his brother Christy.

Another brother – Martin, has travelled to Bangkok to help coordinate the search for the missing man and he is being assisted by Irish Embassy officials.

Anthony’s brother Christy told The Avondhu: “The situation is looking bad.

“He’s been travelling for 20 years but I am very worried. He is very streetwise but his passport and bank card were found at his hotel room and his shoes were left at the bottom of the stairs in the hotel.

“My brother Martin is in Bangkok to help in the search for Anthony and I know he is under an awful lot of pressure to try and find out more details as to Anthony’s whereabouts.”
