A local company who recycle end-of-life vehicles are appealing to car owners not to be fooled by 'cowboy operators' telling people that they will scrap their car.
"Licensed dealers will provide car owners with a certificate of destruction almost immediately and people should be wary of those who do not. If a car is being collected by a licensed ATF site, the certificate should be issued as soon as the car is on the truck. Do not be fooled by cowboy operators who are collecting cars," said Niall Barry, owner of STR Truck Spares, a licensed ATF based in Mitchelstown.
