A car, driven into a bonfire at Ardmhuilinn, Mitchelstown caused a major scare on Hallowe’en night, and when fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene, they had fireworks thrown at them.
Fireworks were also thrown into the fire trucks which, according to brigade chief Michael Carolan, was ‘extremely dangerous’.
The incident also resulted in an ambulance being called when a comment was made by an onlooker to a fireman: “We hope the man in the boot got out’ …
