The NRG Networking Group were firmly in the driving seat with their recent fundraising efforts for COPE Foundation Fermoy and are delighted to have raised over €14,000 for the centre.
COPE Foundation were struggling to raise funds for the purchase of a much-needed specially adapted bus for the centre in Fermoy. COPE Foundation has had a centre here in Fermoy since 1999 and provides invaluable support to those with intellectual disabilities allowing them to live their life to the full.
When the members of NRG Networking heard about the need for the new bus, they decided to get behind the effort with their own ‘Driving for COPE’ fundraising initiative. The group organised a number of hugely successful events, including a coffee morning, classic movie night, street collection and table quiz.
The fundraising initiative was widely supported by the Fermoy community with a number of schools, clubs and organisations also hosting events. The group, who had initially hoped to raise €10,000, were thrilled to see this figure well surpassed as they handed over a cheque for €14,181 to COPE Foundation this week.
“We are very proud of the hard work and generosity of all those who helped us in our fundraising efforts” said Charles McCarthy, chairman of NRG Networking Group. “It just goes to show what can be achieved when a dynamic group like the NRG members put their minds to it”.
