Celebrating 90 year’s, Fermoy Musical Society held a hugely successful anniversary evening in the Fermoy Youth Centre last week. Drawing 132 members, past and present, the evening was enjoyed by all according to Fermoy Musical Society PRO, Claire O’Connor.

“We had a hugely successful night. The Grand Hotel surpassed themselves with the catering, Every Blooming Thing supplied us with flowers once again. We had a beautiful meal, cabaret, dancing and everybody enjoyed it. Kieran Barry and the Youth Centre pulled out all the stops on the night.

On the same night, RTE’s Nationwide broadcast a feature on Fermoy Musical Society, which Ms O’Connor said came across very well.

“It’s great coverage for the town and for the Youth Centre and for us as well. Fermoy came across very well, the Youth Centre looked great as did the theatre,” she added.

Fermoy Musical Society is currently working on the upcoming production of 'The Music Man', which opens in November.
