120 children made Carrig Park in Fermoy their home this week as they participated in the annual FAI Summer Soccer Schools camp.
Running since 1997, the camp in Fermoy remains as popular as ever and continues to train the brightest young soccer players, both boys and girls, locally.
Coaching director with Fermoy FC Tom Clancy, said that over the course of five days the participants receive top quality coaching from FAI accredited, garda-vetted coaches, with coaching on all the main skills of the game. Participants also receive a full kit, sports bag, football and a certificate.
Once again this year, the FAI Summer Soccer Schools are aiming to raise thousands of euro for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
In 2015, over €10,000 was raised for the hospital following donations made by parents and guardians of the children involved in the camps across Ireland.
