25 years ago, a hastily gathered together amalgamated team from the southern end of the county achieved the unachievable by capturing a Limerick senior football title.

When you factor in that the amalgamation involved fierce local rivals (Galtee Gaels, Ballylanders, Knocklong and Garryspillane) this seismic victory in the month of September 1991 is all the more remarkable.

Quarter of a century on, history has looked very favourably on this unique team who went to battle under the banner of Glenacurrane Rovers. By any yardstick, they were an outstanding team, whose pace, mobility and scoring ability ensured they defeated all comers in that never to be forgotten year.
