A Fermoy local has claimed that the Uplands housing development in Fermoy is being ‘rushed’ and that there has ‘never’ been any consultation with those in the immediate surrounds of the development site.

Although a public consultation on the development was held, only two submissions were received, one of which came from local man Kieran Cusack, who highlighted issues of overshadowing and overlooking, as well as issues with the site boundary.

Speaking with The Avondhu, Mr Cusack claimed that the council has not consulted with neighbouring residents regarding the development and claimed he felt the development was ‘being rushed’.

“There’s no consideration for the neighbours on either side. They’re basically going to box us in and because we would be lower than the site, it’s going to take all the sunlight from us.
