Local farmers take to Dublin to ‘Save Irish Farming’

Local farmers were among those who took to Dublin on Sunday as part of a rally to ‘Save Irish Farming’.

Speaking with The Avondhu, North Cork IFA Chairperson Anne Baker, said that key issues that the rally aimed to highlight included Climate Action, Nitrates and Common Agricultural Policy.

“The main emphasis was the highlight the importance of agriculture on the rural economy. Agriculture is a vital part and a very important cog in the rural economy

“We badly need to develop a workable plan with the government on climate action and CAP as it has such a huge impact on how we farm and on income,” Ms Baker said.
