Kenny Butterworth from MacCurtain Street in Fermoy celebrated his 40th birthday in style in the Wagon Wheel Tavern last Sunday night. All of his family were present for what was a very happy occasion, his legion of friends, many of whom had travelled long distances, all joined in the revelry, singing along to the music of disc-jockey, Timmy Raz.

Kenny is from a well-known local family, his mother, Mary is from Fermoy and his father, Bob, is from Kilworth. His grandfather, Tommy Duffy, for many years had a forge in MacCurtain Street. A member of Fermoy C.Y.M.W. Society, Ken also represents that body at national level, and is known for his commitment to community affairs.

So, from all his friends and family, happy birthday Ken, and thanks to Tom Aherne and all the staff of The Wagon for their hospitality on the night; also to Timmy Raz who really got a great party going.
