Fermoy will be en-fete this weekend and hearts will be happy as Fermoy Rowing Club, having had to abandon their plans last year for their annual regatta, sees the always enjoyable event take place on Sunday. For the first time in decades, there will be a UK entry with Broxbourne Rowing Club from London scheduled to attend.

A concerted effort by contractors Lagan, has resulted in very significant progress being made and it's anticipated the ongoing flood relief works will not impact on Sunday's event. Upwards of 200 races are down for decision on Sunday, the first event under way at 8am, continuing until 6pm.

Traffic restrictions in and around Ashe Quay will be in place from Saturday evening. The regatta is a wonderful event for young and old and, while the racing promises to be exciting, it will give those attending the opportunity to see at first hand the great work that has been done to the area fronting the Fermoy Rowing Club, now boasting a new wall, paving and slipway suitably complemented with attractive railings.

Attendees are asked to co-operate with the stewards and gardai to ensure Sunday's regatta will be an anjoyable day out for everyone!
