30-year-old Deirdre O'Donovan from Carrignavar was on a high this week after shedding over two stone during the course of Operation Transformation, RTE television's popular weight loss show.

When Deirdre weighed in for the final time as one of the six leaders this week, she came in at 15 stone, 3.5 lbs, two stone and one pound lighter than her starting weight in January of 17 stone, 4.5 lbs.

The six leaders collectively lost over 13 stone in the course of the show's seventh series which was broadcast twice weekly over seven weeks. The show averaged over half a million viewers each episode who tuned in to see the leaders grapple with a challenging diet and exercise regime that represented a complete change in lifestyle for them.

Deirdre's delight was evident in the series finale on RTE 1 on Wednesday night when, with the other leaders, she took part in a styled catwalk show.

During the course of the series viewers saw the bubbly young mother of two battle her love of junk food and instead prepare healthy meals to reclaim her figure.
