In light of recent thefts of beer kegs in Fermoy, publicans and members of the public are being asked to be vigilant about anything or anyone suspicious after deliveries have been made.

Five kegs were stolen from outside two pubs in Fermoy town centre just a short distance from each other, on May 16, between the hours of 8.30am and 9.30am, just after deliveries had been made.

Gardai told The Avondhu that it would be highly unusual for a van or car to pick up kegs after a delivery, so if anyone working or living in Fermoy town centre saw anything like this, they are asked to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025-82100.

They would also appeal to publicans to make sure that deliveries come in while the premises is open, so that the delivery can be monitored.
