Nanoweek 2013 (14th – 21st June), Ireland’s first outdoor nanoscience art exhibition, has been launched by Minister Sean Sherlock TD, Minister of State, Department of Enterprise, Jobs & Innovation and Department of Education & Skills with responsibility for Research & Innovation .

Running until 5th July and free to the public, NanoArt 2013 will see over 100 images taken from nanoscience research at CRANN, Tyndall National Institute and MSSI University of Limerick, on display in the grounds of Trinity College Dublin, the Triskel Arts Centre, Cork and Tyndall National Institute, Cork as well as a number of cafés and pubs around Dublin and Cork.

The images have been chosen to show the beauty of the scale at which nanoscience research is undertaken – up to 2,000 times smaller than a grain of salt. Members of the public can vote for their favourite image at www.crann.tcd.ie.
