In a very generous gesture, pupils in Scoil Mhairtin, Kilworth raised €1,005 for Bothar who are active in a range of countries including the typhoon ravaged, Philippines.

5th and 6th class pupils at the school, were doing a project on the work being done by Bothar and this prompted them to dress up in festive garb prior to Christmas. There was a great response to the fundraiser and it was a fantastic achievement to get over the one thousand mark.

Programme manager with Bothar, Conor O'Donoghue, visited the school last week to collect the cheque. Conor went on to explain how Bothar was helping communities get back on their feet following the disaster and he sincerely thanked the pupils and their teachers for thinking about families who had lost everything in the aftermath of the devastating storm.

The presentation took place in the school's recently completed new extension which everyone is delighted with.
