The toilet block on Ashe Quay in Fermoy has once again been the target of vandalism, with the door to the men’s toilet damaged in recent days.

The toilet remain closed to the public while Cork County Council was working to repair the door. The matter is being investigated by An Garda Síochána.

This incident is the latest in a run of vandalism in the town, with the culprits targeting the toilet block and the town park.

It was reported recently that thousands of euro worth of damage was caused to the outdoor gym equipment in the town park, while the ongoing vandalism in the toilet block includes dirty protests.

It is hoped that the CCTV cameras installed along the quays will help apprehend the culprits.
