Stew and Leanne Dixon play The Village Arts Centre, Kilworth on Friday, April 8th.

The Dixon siblings, Stew and Leanne, are making quite a name for themselves in music venues around the country.

27-year-old Stew has been writing songs since he was 18 and many people locally would be familiar with his acoustic folk music from gigs in places such as An Bodhran in Mitchelstown, Cheers Bar in Fermoy and a number of venues in Cork City.

Stew’s influences would come from a mix of people like Beautiful South, Johnny Cash and lately, Damien Rice.

Leanne released her debut EP ‘Slide Away, Sail Away’ in 2014 that featured original songs that were written by her brother Stew. She is constantly trying to move her music forward and so far, her music has had some radio play in Ireland and the UK.

Leanne would take influences from Beautiful South and also Adele, whom she admires for the way that she injects feeling and emotion into her songs.

Spend an evening in their company when they play a theatre concert at The Village Arts Centre, Kilworth on Friday, April 8.
