Former county minor and Castlelyons star Niall O'Leary is a vital cog in the St Colman’s team for Saturday in the Harty Cup semi-final.

St Colman’s because of an expected and convincing win over Christian Brothers College, Cork have made the Harty Cup Semi Final.

These lads have trained well, worked hard and won all their games to date defeating CBC Midleton, St Flannan’s and of course, CBC, Cork along the way. We have three Castlelyons men on the team and all did very well namely Jamie O’Leary at full back, Niall O’Leary at centre back and Barry Murphy at full forward.

We also have John Paul Murphy, Seamus Moroney, Mark Spillane, James Kearney, and David Morrison on the panel. No doubt all three will start in the semi-final and the rest of the lads will tog as subs. Well done lads.

The semi-final is down for Mallow on this Saturday at 28th at 1.30pm against old opponents CBC, Midleton. Colman’s have already defeated the Midleton lads in a thriller earlier in the competition.

In that game, all the good Colman’s hurling was done in the last ten minutes as they scored 1-6 without reply in the closing ten minutes and record a mighty win.

Then in the O’Callaghan Cup final with the lineouts much the same and the game played in terrible weather conditions Midleton came out on top. Therefore, the sides are very evenly matched and it will be down to attitude and form on the day.

Best of luck to St Colman’s.
