Following on from her outstanding performance singing ‘Ireland’s Call’ before the Ireland vs England rugby match in Twickenham last September, 15-year-old Roisin Neligan-Ayling will once again perform in Twickenham before Ireland and England face off in the Six Nations this Saturday.

Roisin’s mother Niamh is formerly of MacCurtain Street in Fermoy, now married to Ian Ayling. Roisin is a granddaughter of Tom and Mary Neligan, and a niece of Michael, Vivienne and Desmond Neligan. She has only this week turned 15, so it is a very big week of celebration for the Neligan-Ayling families.

In September, Roisin performed in front of 82,000 people before Ireland’s final warm-up game for the Rugby World Cup and her performance on that occasion has resulted in her being brought back to set the scene before a vital game for both nations.

A draw against Wales and a one-point defeat against France means Ireland need a win to keep their slim championship hopes alive.

Best of luck to Roisin, hopefully she can inspire Ireland to victory on the day.
