Friends of the late Pat Fenton are organising a golf classic that takes place in Fermoy Golf Club on Friday 26th August.

The event which is being co-ordinated by members of the Castlelyons based, Abbey Golf Society, will help raise funds for The Padraig Fenton Sensory Room – a project that’s being planned for the Enable Ireland facility in Eastgate, Little Island.

The golf classic committee are delighted that Pat’s former employer, McMahon’s in Fermoy, have come on board as main sponsors. The response to date has been very encouraging and hopes are high that a significant sum can be raised.

A team of 3 costs €90 (food not included) – a tee box can be sponsored for €50, alternatively, any individual or business can make a donation. The contact number is Paul Neligan (086-7847132) – secretary of The Abbey Golf Society in Castlelyons. The late Pat was a dedicated member of this society and enjoyed many a day out with his fellow golfers.

Pat’s son, Padraig benefited hugely from the care and expertise of those at Enable Ireland and creating a sensory room would be a fitting tribute to his memory.
