Mitchelstown wasn’t found wanting in the Culture Night stakes and thanks to a concerted effort a range of activities were laid on.

M’town – a youth café style venue for teenagers and young people hosted an ‘open mic’ session on Friday night last. There was no shortage of takers and those in attendance were treated to rock, R & B, regga and rap.

A little later on in the evening, John Carey and his staff had everything in place for a session of music, song and story telling in The Ramble Inn. A fine crowd turned up to listen to some tall tales and exotic yarns.

John and his staff looked after everyone really well and the craic and high spirits continued for several hours.

OTHER EVENTS

A launch and reading took place in Kingston College earlier in the day while there was a most enjoyable tea dance in Corpus Christi Nursing Home.

Thanks to everyone who supported these events and a special ‘thank you’ to Mary Hanley for doing such an outstanding job as Culture Night co-ordinator in Mitchelstown.
