O’Donoghue clan assemble for family reunion in Mitchelstown

The O’Donoghue family who trace their origins to the townland of Ballinmadough (pronounced Ballamadock) in Araglin have a tradition of assembling at intervals to reinforce the deep family ties that bind them. After a gap of 8 years, senior members of the clan felt it was time to reunite.

A trio of John Kiely, Margaret O’Donoghue and Tomás Donegan were tasked with gathering family members and organising what turned out to be a really enjoyable event. Given that various strands of this family are resident in Britain, USA and Canada getting everyone in the same place isn’t an easy undertaking.
