Denis Foley with the Massey Ferguson 135 formerly owned by his late brother Maurice. Denis has done a fantastic job restoring the tractor that will have pride of place in next Sunday's run.

Kilkenny resident, Denis Foley has faithfully restored a tractor owned by his late brother, Maurice – that vehicle, a Massey Ferguson 135, has the honour of leading next Sunday’s eagerly anticipated fundraising run in Araglin.

Organised by members of the Foley and Kenneally families with the support of hardworking locals, proceeds from the run are going to Brú Columbanus and Embrace Farm.

Brú Columbanus is well known as an organisation that provides accommodation to the families of those being treated in Cork hospitals. Embrace Farm is less prominent but no less important as it offers assistance and advice to families of individuals involved in farm accidents.

The run will leave Araglin Community Field at 11.30am with a variety of routes available to tractors, cars and motorcycles.

Having completed the course, participants will return to Araglin Community Field where refreshments await. We’re told that no one will leave hungry so don’t be afraid to dig in.

This significant event is another wonderful example of community spirit, neighbourliness and goodwill – well done to organisers, a sincere word of thanks to all the helpers and finally best of luck and safe motoring to those taking part on Sunday.
