A proper water supply system must be put in place in Ballyhooly following numerous recent outages in the village, Cllr Frank O’Flynn informed the recent Northern committee meeting of Cork County Council.

Furthermore, Irish Water must increase their communication levels with the public during such outages, he argued.

Cllr O’Flynn called on Cork County Council to ‘investigate and rectify the very poor water pressure in Ballyhooly and put in place a water supply to meet the present and future needs of Ballyhooly as a matter of urgency’.

The Seanad candidate also called on Irish Water to put in place ‘a proper communication system to use at the time of water breaks for residents, especially at weekends and out of hours’.
