There’s a strong tradition of Carmelite volunteers in Mitchelstown and, thanks to their efforts and the public’s generosity, scores of people are able to make the pilgrimage to Lourdes in the south of France with plans already well advance for this year’s trip. 

On Sunday last, Paddy O’Brien was the big attraction in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown. A large crowd attended with everyone enjoying Paddy’s laid back sing-a-long style.

While ‘Paddy O’ was the headline act, organisers were delighted to also have local balladeer Jimmy O’Donoghue, on board. I
