Glanmire native Martha Hegarty, a Contemporary Art Theory and Criticism graduate student at University College Cork has been announced as the overall winner of One4all’s annual ‘Design a Gift Card’ competition.

Martha will now see her gift card design sold throughout the Post Office network nationwide and online at One4all.ie.

Now in its fourth year, Design a Gift Card competition entrants were asked to put their artistic skills to the test and create a unique gift card and carrier design under the theme of ‘Happiness’ in line with One4all’s ethos of ‘Happy Gifting’.

Martha’s design was inspired by the feeling of excitement and delight upon receiving a gift and this is reflected in the vibrant colour palette and overlaid text saying ‘Ready, Steady, Shop!’.

Her gift card creation was chosen from over 75 entries by an expert judging panel including fashion designer Helen Steele, illustrator Holly Shortall, CEO of Tweak.com Jerry Kennelly and Aoife Davey, Group Marketing Manager at One4all.

Speaking about her winning design, Martha commented: “My design was inspired by the feeling of joy from receiving a gift and in particular the feeling of possibility upon receiving a One4all Gift Card and the multitude of brilliant experiences you can have spending it!

“When developing my design, I was conscious that I wanted to make the Gift Card visually appealing to consumers and bring a smile to their faces with bright, bold colours and a hint of humour!”

Martha’s winning design has not only earned her national distribution for her One4all Gift Card creation but she also takes home a MacBook Pro.

Five runners-up will also receive a €100 One4all Gift Card each and their designs will also be sold online at One4all.ie.
