The Avondhu Press Newspaper was established in 1978 and covers the areas of North East Cork, West Waterford, South Limerick and South Tipperary. This successful weekly - published Thursday - boasts a readership in excess of 39,000. The first edition was a modest 4 page edition which has since grown to an average of 80 pages.

FERMOY TO RETAIN COURT SITTINGS

A statement this week issued to The Avondhu by the Courts Service confirms that, despite rumours to the contrary, District Court sittings are to be retained in Fermoy.

CLAIMS OF BAD PRESS AND UNFAIR TREATMENT AS TRAVELLERS MOVE ON

As a group of Travellers who had set up an illegal encampment near Mitchelstown moved out from the area over last weekend, a full time worker with a Traveller support group, expressed her concerns to The Avondhu that Travellers were getting a bad press and being unfairly treated by local authorities throughout the country.
