A quarter of a century ago, groups of students from the three secondary schools in Mitchelstown were agonising over their exams as they anxiously opened their Leaving Cert results - now 25 years on, they will be coming together again to reminisce about their school days in a reunion this September.

The organisers are inviting all those who went to the CBS Secondary School and Presentation Secondary School between 1975 and 1988 and also those who went to St Fanahan's College between 1982 and 1988.

It will take place on Saturday, September 14 with a Mass in the Parish Church at 7.30pm, followed by a get together in Walsh's Beer Garden on Lower Cork Street with finger food and a DJ.

This will be a great opportunity for people to meet up with old friends, look back on their school days and relive the walks through the corridors and the panics before sudden tests, as well as finding out where people's lives took them after that fateful day when they opened up their exam results and paved the way for the next chapter of their lives.

The organisers have set up a dedicated Facebook page ahead of this event, Reunion Cbspresconvent and already more than 70 connections have been made through this.
