Over 1,000 people visited the Fermoy Tourist Office in 2016, figures released by the office indicate.

Situated on Ashe Quay beside the Blackwater River, the office is part of a tourism initiative run by Fermoy Enterprise Board in association with Avondhu Blackwater Partnership and Cork County Council.

Visitor numbers to the tourist office peaked during the summer period, with 168 visitors in July, 186 in August and 118 in September.

The quietest month for visitors was March with 35 visitors. At its peak, over 250 visits were made in July 2015 following the opening of the office the previous month.

The tourist office serves as the hub for tourist information as well as an access point for information for all aspects of town life for the local community.

Their website, fermoy.ie, provides a wide range of information to potential visitors about upcoming events in the town as well as information on where to stay, eat and socialise.
